The energy transition won’t be achieved top-down but bottom-up: by local actors who are the real heroes and changemakers of the energy transition. This year, EUROSOLAR will award the first renewable energy pioneers of the new decade.

EUROSOLAR leads the good fight in climate stabilisation efforts, united with many others. We are prepared to accelerate and escalate renewable energy uptake to 100% and beyond ever more rapidly – with a growing community of allies of all ranks and ages – from green bankers to elementary school students. On this World Climate Emergency Strike Day we call for a supportive Renewable Energy for Climate Stabilisation Emergency Declaration.
Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg). EUROSOLAR presents eight pioneering projects for the European energy revolution: Today the European Association for Renewable Energies and its Luxembourgian section honoured eight nominees from six different countries with the European Solar Prize 2019 at the Campus Belval in Luxembourg’s picturesque Esch-sur-Alzette. The prize was awarded in the categories municipalities, solar architecture, commercial companies, local or regional associations, education and vocational training and one world cooperation as well as for special achievement. Promising examples of actors, who demonstrate that the European energy transition is already successfully being put into practice ‘from below‘, are this year’s award winners.
The internationally renowned university competition in innovative homebuilding “Solar Decathlon Europe” has elected this year’s champions during the last two weeks of July in Szentendre, Hungary. The competition aims at demonstrating how to meet energy needs from free resources like solar energy and how to integrate these technologies with affordable and reliable architectural solutions.
Bonn/Luxembourg, 22 July 2019. In order to save our common livelihood, we have to take action now. A real energy turnaround towards 100 percent renewable energy needs to be implemented now by actors on various levels of society and politics. Luckily, there are shining examples of creativity and engagement for renewables to be found all over Europe. Some of them will be awarded with the European Solar Prize 2019 in Luxembourg on 15 November.

The most recent power outages in South America also show that the projections, goals and methods of both international conferences and national pathways are still entirely inadequate.

This development is also substantiated by the trade fair cooperations as well as by the positive visitor reactions at this year's ENERGY STORAGE EUROPE, which ends today in Düsseldorf after three successful days. More than 90% of visitors and exhibitors confirmed their satisfaction with the industry event.
Bonn, 15.01.2019 Applications and proposals in the field of renewable energies can now be submitted for the renowned EUROSOLAR award. Cities, municipalities, architects, municipal and private companies, associations, organisations and cooperatives, journalists and of course citizens from all over Europe are invited to participate.
Bonn, 17.11.2018. Eight ground-breaking projects for the energy revolution: Today EUROSOLAR awarded the European Solar Prize 2018 to actors from six different nations at the Kunstmuseum Bonn. The prize winners from the fields of education, urban planning, architecture, social affairs and industry are making a contribution to the regenerative and decentralised energy supply in Europe with forward-looking projects. The prize was awarded, for example, for a production hall in Switzerland with a perfectly integrated photovoltaic system to meet the energy needs for the airplane production, a solar electric car ferry operating on the Mosel on the German-Luxembourgian border and for the Israeli-Palestinian NGO Comet-ME. It supplies around 4,000 people in Palestine who have no access to the supply grid with renewable energy and clean water.

Because the latest findings on climate change show the price being paid for long delayed action. Every year EUROSOLAR awards the European Solar Prize to role models and pioneers in the field of renewable energies and brings a wide variety of energy transition actors from all parts of society into the public eye.
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of EUROSOLAR and the associated annual partnership with the City of Bonn, this year's award winners will be honoured in the EUROSOLAR home town. The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, 17 November 2018, at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, Germany.
