International Renewable Energy Storage and Systems Conference (IRES 2023)
Save the date: 28 – 30 November 2023 | RWTH Aachen and online
Energy storage systems are the key to the successful energy transition to full renewable energy supply and are more relevant today than ever before. They address numerous challenges of the energy transition at once: stabilise the electricity grids, support the shutdown of power plants, make regionally generated electricity available locally and compensate for fluctuations in renewable energy generation.
The International Renewable Energy Storage (IRES) Conference is one of the world’s largest, leading international renewable energy storage conferences. In 2023, IRES will be held for the seventeenth time. On a present platform, representatives from politics, industry, science and research can exchange the latest findings in the field of storage technologies and present their results to a broad professional audience.
In up to three parallel series of lectures, experts from science, practice, politics and society focused on the current state of knowledge about energy storage.
In plenary sessions, topic-specific lecture series and discussion rounds, around 150 lectures were presented including a large poster exhibition.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 17th IRES in 2023.
Topics of the conference:
– storage technologies
– networks and systems
– system analysis and planning
– storage in distributed smart energy resources and management systems
– storage in industry and industrial production and processes
– storage opportunities specific to emerging countries
– storage cities: municipal energy supply and storages
– storage stories: worldwide energy storage case studies

Technical and scientific experts are invited to submit an abstract in the upcoming IRES Call for Abstracts. Contributions from the fields of policy, finance and law are also welcome. Those who participate in the Call for Abstracts will not only have the opportunity to present their results via a poster exhibition or as an oral contribution (at the Düsseldorf fair), but will also have the chance of publication with the open access publisher Atlantis Press, which is part of Springer Nature Verlag.
Due to high demand to present at the 17th International Renewable Energy Storage Conference, EUROSOLAR is pleased to announce that additional spaces have opened up for abstract submission until July 21.
