European Solar Prize – Application deadline extended until August 29, 2021

Bonn/Amsterdam, 18 August 2021. In order to combat the climate crisis and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, there needs to be immediate action. The change towards a society with 100 % renewable energy has to accelerate. This expansion must be promoted more strongly at the political level. Fortunately there are pioneers, who are enthusiastically and innovatively working towards an energy transition. Some of those pioneers will be awarded the European Solar Prize 2021 in Amsterdam on  December 2, 2021.

EUROSOLAR is looking forward to awarding progressive projects from all over Europe! Applications and nominations can be submitted until August 29, 2021! Click here for more information.

The call for entries is addressed to cities and municipalities, architects, municipal and private companies, associations, organisations and cooperatives, journalists and committed people who actively support the energy transition with their projects and initiatives. The solar prizes are awarded in ten categories – from mobility solutions, solar architecture and urban development to projects in the fields of education, one-world cooperation and media.

The event will be held by EUROSOLAR’s newest section on December 2, 2021 in the Dutch capital Amsterdam.

To present the projects and winners to a brighter audience the ceremony will also be broadcasted online.

The European Solar Prize 2021 will be awarded in the following categories:

a) Towns/municipalities, council districts, public utilities

b) Solar architecture and sustainable design

c) Industrial and commercial companies or farmers

d) Local or regional associations and organizations

e) Owners or operators of renewable energy installations

f) Transport and mobility

g) Media

h) Education and vocational training

i) One world cooperation

j) Special achievement
